The best thing about a destination sometimes is not written anywhere. This is an emotive, reflexive and humorous trip, in which Narda will explore her Croatian and Slovene roots, also meeting some bordering countries.

The Balkans: diversity, complex crossing of complex roads. It’s the historic frontier between East and West, Austro Hungarian and Ottoman Empires and Christians and Islamic. With alien language and food, we explore this area’s heritage and exponents.
This way, Narda will share each location and its people’s essence, with her peculiar idiosyncrasy and her own features. Because the Balkans are also a region of great traditions where it is impossible not to think about eating. Avoiding conventional tourist paths, Narda invited to share a journey that only she can draw guided by the “word of mouth” local characters who will guide her in the search of the best regional products, characters, eating establishments, artistic trends, innovative ideas, regional parties or everyday habits.

Throughout 13 chapters, Narda crosses political boundaries – of a map drawn and re-drawn again and again – to find cultural and geographical similarities and differences in a region of ancestral complexity and at the same time young and active, that does not stop its transformation
